AND WINTER FUN

Our long winters above the Arctic Circle are ideal for winter activities! Excellent snow conditions often exist into April.

Enjoy scenic backdrops like Sukakpak mountain just north of Wiseman.

Back country skiing is just one way to enjoy winter in Alaska’s Arctic. Motorized off-road transportation is prohibited here, making this area unique in providing intimate and quiet encounters with undisturbed nature. You can snowshoe right from your cabin door, following our trails, or explore the beautiful winter wonderland on your own.

There is fun in the snow for every skill level and experience, from little loops around the village to daylong excursions. Or you can venture north onto the North Slope, where spring skiing is still possible in early April!

We rent snowshoes to our guests; please inquire about availability. For a greater selection of winter gear rental, check out Beaver Sports in Fairbanks.
